‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted’. -aesop-
I’m Ruel R. Parena, a public school teacher with an advocacy to promote children’s welfare. I am championing a crusade to help students most especially those who come from vulnerable and less privileged families.
Every summer break, I organize ‘school supplies donation drive’ that is actively participated by my friends and other supportive members in our community.
This 2018, I have already chosen the beneficiaries of this campaign, the underprivileged community children of Sitio Antuanga, San Carlos Heights, Quiot, Cebu City.
Also, I have pre-selected the date when to personally hand over the donations and as well as the venue of the giving. The distribution will be on May 27, 2018 and it will be at the top of Antuanga Hills where approximately 300 families reside.
Aside from the unavailability of school supplies, a problem which arises at the opening of each school year, scarcity of potable water and lack of public transportation are known problems in the community that they hope to be addressed.
Everyday, residents, especially the kids, are obliged to fetch water from the top down to the foot of the hill where the source of water is found. This is an everyday struggle that they have to face just to get water for washing and drinking. In quest of getting quality education, they spend 30 minutes of walking everyday just to reach the nearest public school.
With this unfavorable fight they have to go through each day, I can't just stay on my shell and do nothing.
This is the reason why I am exerting my best effort to raise a fund and collect school supplies from all of you who wear a giving heart and whose willing to help the less fortunate individuals in our community.
I’ll also need volunteers during the actual distribution.
If you are willing to donate, please do not hesitate to reach me through my messenger.
I will be glad to pick up your donations.
