Campaign Story
I’m Shiela Bungay, 45 and live in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. I work as an admin assistant of a hospitality developments company. In my spare time I love to teach kids in the church where I worshipped.
My objective when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July 2021 was to live to be 50 years old. Even with that short-term aim in mind, I realized the odds were stacked against me. I've gone through ERCP with stent and six cycles of chemo last 2021. And just when it seemed I was in the clear, a new diagnosis reported more cancer. The disappointment was obvious. I would have to go through six more rounds of chemo and the sickness and the side effects in year 2022.
The new cost of treatment is anticipated to be ₱288,000 ($5,617) for six (6) chemotherapy rounds. The cost of each cycle is ₱48,000 ($936). In addition to the high medical bills that I will face again, I will also need financial support for travel, and absence from work. My long recovery will involve active presence of my sister away from her job.
I humbly ask for financial assistance to help pay for medication, lab tests, and therapy. Because I am unable to afford this treatment with my present financial means, which were drained last year.
A small gift of $1 (₱51) is a one step closer to my recovery. Please feel free to share this post and encourage your own friends to support.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
