Help Save Our Dear Akiko

Hello, I am Camille. I am setting up this campaign to help my friend's daughter, Akiko or Aki as we fondly call her, raise funds for her much needed MRI and other medical expenses. Aki was initially diagnosed with UTI a week ago and was confined at Pasig Children's Hospital on July 20. Her UTI developed to Urinary Retention, after 1 week of being confined, she had 3 seizures and went under a coma, this is due to her inability to pass urine. As of August 3, she was declared to be out of the coma, and now she's able to breathe on her own and the ventilador no longer needed. As of now, she is being treated for Obstructive Uropathy. Obstructive uropathy is when your urine can’t flow (either partially or completely) through your ureter, bladder, or urethra due to some type of obstruction. Instead of flowing from your kidneys to your bladder, urine flows backward, or refluxes, into your kidneys (Healthline.com).

According to the doctor, before she can be moved to the ward, she needs to have an MRI Scan done first. The expenses has been piling up already, and the amount for the MRI is too much for Aki's family to cover. I am hoping that through this campaign, I would be able to help them raise funds for Aki to have her MRI done and also to help out with the Medical Expenses. Some of her medications are also not available at the hospital's pharmacy and have to be bought outside.

Who is Aki?

Aki, 8 years of age, is a lively and affectionate little girl with special needs. I first met her last year on my boyfriend's birthday, where she kept on hugging everybody. She loved touching my hair and kept on embracing me. She is loving and caring despite her having autism. She too is also a very bright girl. She goes to Bagong Ilog Elementary School SPED.

As a mother, I can only imagine the pain her arents, Lovelyn and Chyna, and the rest of her family is going through right now. The pain of seeing your child under a coma, unable to return your smile or your kisses and hugs must be heartbreaking. Most of all, not being able to provide enough support financially for her to get the treatment that she needs must really hurt.

I hope that through this campaignthat I have set up, I may be able to knock on the doors of your hearts and ask for help fund Aki's MRI procedure and funds to help out with the medical expenses. This is the only way I know I can reach out to more people, aside from posting on social media. Please help us help Aki.
