Help save my brother חי

Please help to save my brother Chai, so that he may live to be the kind, gentle, sensitive, sweet, humerous and happy person that he rarely has had the chance to be. And so that he may fullfill his dream to help others like him.

From as young as I can remember, my brother Chai has suffered from pain to his heart. Feeling that he doesnt belong in this world, he developed repetative and habitual behaviors and i watched as neighbourhood kids bullied and belittled him all throughout our childhood. At just 16 years old someone thought to offer him opiatics for his pain, and since, he has spent 20 years of his life battling heavy addiction most often alone and reaching the darkest places of suffering.

His health has heavily depleted and within the last 6 years he has had repeated relapses and has been hospitalized numerous times with trauma-triggered arthritis in his neck, internal bleeding, and liver damage.

At the moment he is awaiting diagnosis for liver and stomach damage and desperately needs help to get into a clinic. For him and our family most days have become like waking up into a dark dream and it makes my helpless parents and younger siblings feeling hopeless. But we cannot give up on him.

I am seeking a combination of intensive therapies, nutritional, behavioral and spiritual that i hope will help to bring him back to life, with hope and happiness.

During my brothers struggle I once painted a portrairt of Chacham Yosef Chaim, The Ben Ish Chai of Baghdad with the idea to help to raise funds for treatment. The painting is very special to our family because he is the great grandfather from our sephardic mother. Prints of this painting have not before been released.
