Campaign Story
Almost 1 year old, Jake was born in Thailand as a Myanmar refugee with his mother.
He has a serious windpipe defect called TRACHEAL STENOSIS (pinched trachea).
Jake has spent much of his life in a Bangkok Hospital where he is often treated for pneumonia and must endure a horrible suction of mucus from his lungs 4 times a day.
His life- expectancy is short unless he receives an operation (TRACHEAL RESECTION) as soon as possible.
Until now, family friend, Doug Joy has very kindly met all medical costs for Jake but with his life-savings exhausted, is unable to afford this costly operation which we are receiving quotes for presently.
(at least $16,000 here in Thailand).
Doug and a couple friends here in Bangkok are working to find the best path forward for Jake and hence started this campaign so we can go ahead with the operation soon
Updates regarding doctor decisions and costs will be ongoing.
Full details of Jake's case are available and will be posted shortly.
We ask that you watch the video and consider helping us to save little Jake who has an infectious personality but has to date not been afforded the health any child deserves.
