First diagnosed in July 2016 with stage 4 chronic kidney disease, Sandy Centeno’s condition has worsened to stage 5 after she failed to undergo regular treatment for lack of money.
Sandy, who is 38 years old, also suffers from severe anemia due to her work as a call center employee for over a decade. Through the combined help of family, friends, workmates, classmate, schoolmates, complete strangers who had generously helped in their own special ways, she was able to go through 3 successful operations.
Fast forward to present day situation, I go to dialysis 3 times a week. Philhealth hands out 90 sessions or covers 2,600 of the charges per session every year. The 90 sessions provided by philhealht is about to run out in a month or two. My entire family is trying hard to make ends meet to cover the expenses on top of medicines, dialysis sessions and food. The dialysis should be done lifetime or get a transplant.
To get a permanent cure is to get a transplant. To get that started, there are several process that needs to be done starting with getting a work up which would cost roughly around 100,000. We are faced with this decision to make of choosing either a lifetime of treatment or start the process for a transplant. Either ways both the options are expensive. Again we ask your kind hearts for help. A single session of missed dialysis could mean my life in exchange. Please help see us through, lend me a hand to win this battle. I cannot win this battle alone. Let us all join hands, pray, reach out to one another and lend a helping hand. I have a gone a long way since we started this scary battle against this illness. Please don’t let me go through this challenge alone and scared. A big part of the success has come from all you people helping me out selflessly. I am forever thankful for all your support. Let us beat this illness together.. We can make it pass the 2.5M required for the transplant! please help!
