Over the decades, Human Wildlife conflicts has been a challenge for communities and wildlife in Tanzania and other parts of the world. Wild dogs and big cats such as Lions and leopards have been pushed nearly to extinction as a result. In the last six months, Joyce (my mother) like other pastoralists in Simanjiro (northern Tanzania) has lost nearly ten goats and sheep to Leopards and Hyaena; a normal trend for many years in a row.

Since livestock is the Only source of income for us Maasai, the community gets angry of these predators and mostly revenge back and for years now, lots of carnivores have been killed.

As a way to ensure peaceful coexistence with wildlife, I'm raising some funds that will help us to build the predator-proof livestock enclosure and set up a small solar energy system that will provide light into the boma during the night . The enclosure is fortified with strong mesh fencing attached to sturdy wooden or metal poles. These enclosures proved over 95% effective at reducing carnivore attacks in enclosures.

The funds are 100% going to provide security to our livestock as well as helping us to peacefully coexist with carnivores. Kindly donate and help this important cause through which humans and wildlife will thrive together.
