Help Ramon fight off Lupus Flare

My husband, Ramon Austria, suffered a severe lupus flare-up last January 20th, 2022. He woke up with bleeding gums, blood spots and bruises in his arms and legs, and was spitting up blood. His blood test confirmed that his platelet levels were reduced to just 3 (the normal range is between 150,000 - 450,000), essentially putting him at severe risk of internal bleeding. He was admitted to St. Luke's Medical Center BGC that same day. After 2 days at the ICU, a blood transfusion, and 3 days of high-dose steroid pulse therapy, he is now in a more stable condition. His platelet levels are rising but aren't yet within the normal range.

We are overwhelmed by all our friends and family members who have been rallying the heavens with their thoughts and prayers for Ramon. We are especially grateful too for all those who volunteered to donate blood especially in the early days when things were looking pretty bleak.

As Ramon continues to regain his strength, we are hoping to appeal to your generous hearts to help us in paying for our hospital expenses. Unfortunately, his HMO does not cover lupus since it's a declared pre-existing condition, so we'll be paying out-of-pocket for most of the items on our bill: the ICU costs, blood transfusion (platelet apheresis), steroid pulse therapy, lab/blood work and other exams, as well as the doctors' fees. We estimate the total cost to be more or less $10,000 when all's said and done.
