Last July 11,2019, Alfie SM. Arteta was rushed to Las Piñas Doctors Hospital due to difficulty in breathing after a week of coughing. After some laboratory tests, he was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism.

Due to worsened conditioned after a week, Alfie was then transferred to San Juan de Dios Hospital. Usual laboratory tests, 2D echo and X-ray, were done; he was now diagnosed with pneumonia, acute kidney failure and cardiomyopathy. His three major organs: heart, lungs and kidney, are affected. Multiple organ failure as the doctor says. He immediately started regular hemodialysis treatment once he was admitted in the ward of the hospital. After 5 days, he was transferred to the Critical Care Unit of the hospital because the water or fluid level inside his lungs is increasing quickly. He stayed at the CCU for a week and was transferred again to the ward. However after staying in the ward for 2 days, on Aug. 3, 2019, he had a cardiac arrest and was revived after 6 minutes. Due to lack of oxygen and weak pumping of the heart, he is now in the state of obtundation. He cannot be fully awake or aroused and has slow responses to stimulation. Tracheostomy has been performed; and a mechanical ventilator is connected which supports his breathing. He's been staying in the CCU for a month now (Sept. 5) in the same state, no improvements. He hasn't awaken yet. Some health complications, such as bacteria infection, blood clot etc. also occur. Due to his regular dialysis, high antibiotics and other medications, laboratory tests, physical therapy etc. his running bill is now almost P1,000,000.

Alfie's family, relatives and friends are doing everything they can to support him morally and financially, by being strong despite of the fear and anxiety. Kindly pray to our Almighty God for a miracle and may his consciousness be back and through God's healing hands his body will recover. We are humbly asking for financial assistance to our loved one, Alfie as he fight his battle. Your act of kindness will be very much appreciated. Thank you and may God bless you!
