This pandemic has brought anxiety, grief and sadness to many families. Experiences and stories of friends and relatives losing their loved ones became painfully real when our mother lost her battle against Covid19. The day her test came back positive for Covid19, we were distraught but remained positive and faithful that she'll get through it - the same way she battled breast cancer years ago. For 10 long days we waited and prayed. We prayed incessantly and hoped to see her walk out that room. I personally still have so many plans for her and wasn't prepared at all when we received the news of her death. Losing a mother is devastating and losing her in Covid19 is way much worse. We weren't able to see, touch or even bid goodbye.

This tragic story happened when my mother Ma. Marieta Cruz, was hospitalized due to severe Pneumonia at Tanza Specialist Hospital last May 1, 2021. Her test for Covid19 came back positive a day after. Unfortunately after the initial medications done to her by the doctors, she was transferred to intensive care unit. She was intubated from May 4 to May 10. She died of Covid19 at the age of 58. She could've spent more days and years with us, seeing her grandchildren grow up. My mother dedicated her life in showering her family with love, compassion and faithfulness. She is a selfless individual who always think of others before herself. She has spent most of her life in serving her family. She is also the go-to person of some relatives and friends who seek help, comfort or advice. She will surely be missed - always. Her memories will be forever in our hearts.

In this ordeal, my family and I are asking for your generous heart for medical bill assistance. Her bill skyrocketed to Php1.2M. We initially paid hundred of thousands already for the hemoperfusion cartridges and the immunosuppressive drug Tocilizumab which was purchased from another hospital. Any amount to help reduce this huge amount is greatly appreciated. You may send your help on these bank accounts as well to avoid any charges:

BDO 007 430 243 751 - Mary Rose Mendiola

GCASH 0926 232 2054 - Rio Cruz

We also seek prayers as we face these trying times as currently my father, my youngest sister and my nephew also tested positive for Covid19.

Thank you for the support.
