My name is Patrick Lubowa, I am a male Ugandan aged 34. I completed a diploma in primary education in Kyambogo University in Uganda and decided to go to work in Rwanda as an English teacher. I am in service since 2009. Because of the loss of my parents, I had to give up my childhood dream: work in the air transportation system. But that dream never left me, I want to work in airports because it will give me the opportunity to broaden my horizons by meeting many different kinds of people. I will be able to get a well-paid job to provide a better life for my family. Indeed, teaching jobs in Rwanda are not well paid.
While making my wishes for the new year 2020, one of them was to give me the chance to realize my dreams by taking on a new course in Airport Operations. Unfortunately, my will ran into a major challenge: the tuition fees. Although I have been working and trying to save money, I realized that it was not possible for me to get enough tuition for my studies. Here in Rwanda I have no support at all since I have no single parent to support me, I am just on my own and I have to take care of my little siblings so that they can go to school and grow up into responsible citizens.
After thinking about what I can do to fulfil my dream, I decided to ask for help from someone who could. I am ready to provide all the details from the University if I am offered help by a well-wisher. I would also be delighted to keep you informed of my learnings and to immerse you a bit in my culture if you feel like it.
The Airport Operations course takes two years to get a diploma. We have three semesters per year. We pay 75€/80$ for registration and 300€/320$ per semester. So, for six semesters, I am supposed to pay 1800€/1920$. The first semester will start in September 2020.
I will be very grateful if my humble request is put under your consideration.
