Meet Ted

My husband, Ted, has been a devout believer since I’ve known him. He’s always been a good husband and a man of faith. Somewhere between 2003 and 2006, he took to teaching Sunday School at CCF Alabang, Grades 2 and 4, every Sunday. He had a knack for teaching and was really good with kids. Our classes were always full of smiles and laughter, and on more than one occasion, someone complained that we were too loud, but the kids loved it, and I’m sure they loved him as well. He loved them too, such that he even volunteered to help with the preparations of the Daily Vacation Bible School on top of his Sunday School responsibilities.

The internet back then wasn’t as ubiquitous as it was now, but somehow, he managed to turn cardboards into these quirky little model props that the kids could assemble. He even came up with puppets of his own and put on a show for the kids. It was definitely a highlight in our lives.

Our financial circumstances however forced him to drop his ministry, and it wouldn’t be until sometime after 2010 that he would be able to start again. By then, his passion for the Word intensified, so he attended the Seminary, even getting a recommendation from Pastor Joby to attend the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries at Makati.

In 2018, the opportunity to teach would present itself again. His passion reignited; he once again displayed his love for teaching the Word and his affinity with children, albeit this time, it was at CCF Pasay, and he was the leader of the Sunday School Department.

He would also volunteer to become a GLC teacher and found his own DGroup, becoming a teacher to people of all ages, from the children to the adults. The workload had gone beyond hectic by that point, but he remained dutiful to me as a husband, driving for me whenever I needed, and even tending to the chores back at home.

Though circumstances would force him to drop his ministry again, he would resume it online during Covid, then after normalization, through coffee fellowships, wake sermons, and a streaming channel at YouTube with Brother Joseph called God's Sown, where they would interview pastors, garnering support and attention for various causes and aspiring young pastors.

Ted's Plight

A series of calamities would befall us starting the year before Covid. My mother-in-law would pass, then in the height of Covid, I got sick with Diverticulitis, an infection that would challenge us for the months to come. Though we ourselves managed to get by that dark period, the toll of the lockdowns on our elderly relatives was fatal. My father-in-law passed not long after restrictions were lifted, then my mother’s health too deteriorated to the point that trips to the ER and ICU became common, eventually forcing us to turn to palliative care.

Throughout all of this, it was my husband who supported me. He always accompanied me to my mother even when we had to leave at terribly inconvenient times. He was my anchor in all of this. He was my rock, my sanctuary, my refuge.

One day, he started complaining of acidity, so we got him checked under the presumption that that was the issue, but on March 25, 2024, he suddenly suffered a heart attack and was brought to the ER, whereupon the doctor revealed that all of his arteries were blocked.

Call to Action

My husband urgently requires a Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting surgery, atop which are various hospital fees, ranging from the room to the tests and medicine, bringing the total up to 1,500,000 PHP.

Our tribulations have not ended since my mother-in-law passed the year before covid, and we have persisted for this long, but we are no longer able to bear the unending strain on our finances, so we are turning to the community and congregation, to our brothers and sisters, for support.

Please save my husband. This is a man who wants nothing more than to share his faith and love for God with others, spreading nothing but positivity to those around him.

Your generous contributions will directly support my husband in his journey to regain his health and well-being. We urgently need to raise these funds within the next month to ensure that his surgery can proceed without delay. Thank you for your love, kindness, and support. We appreciate any and all of your help during these challenging times.
