I'm begging you to help me continue making dogs and cats in my shelter happy.
I started to help abandoned, injured and aged animals more than 10 years ago. I hadn't expected a couple of strays picked up from the street to turn into a dog shelter in my own apartment. I just couldn't stand by and let them die bleeding for every poor creature left to fend for itself. At first there were five, then 10, and with time 15 dogs and cats living with me in my flat.
And now I take care of almost 70 dogs and cats.
They live in two small flats and have everything they need - good food, all required medical treatment, a warm and cozy apartment, long daily walks and human care no one would offer them if they had stayed in the street. All the disabled dogs have wheelchairs. I've been taking double shifts and working overtime in order to keep the quality of life of my wards at good level.
The situation is very difficult because I live in the region of Ukraine considered a warzone, that's why the connection with other regions of our country is limited or even non-existent at times. Since there are many abandoned pets in Lugansk where I live, it's really difficult to find a host for the pet or get any help. So I with the help of a small group of friends have been doing our best to help poor animals for 10 years, saving them from starvation and suffering. Now the situation has become critical. The number of animals is too big for the apartment they are living in now, so I and my huge four-pawed family need to acquire a new house to move to in order to have so-much-coveted space.
I'm pleading with you to help me in my fight for what is right and give my pets new hope. I'm anticipating your support and will be grateful for any help.
