Help our Nanay survive cancer

Dear family and friends,

This is our dear mother, Nanay Elvie, 67 years old. Loving, caring, thoughtful, and always there for the people she loves. Even in her younger years, she has always been the family’s go to person for anything and she has done everything wholeheartedly without complaints.

While enjoying her life taking care of her young grandchildren, life threw a curve ball. Last June 2021, of what was thought to be a simple constipation, she went thru Colonoscopy to find out there’s a tumor in her large intestine and was completing blocking her bowel.She’s diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and that the cancer metastasized to her liver, but the doctor strongly recommended to prioritize the Colectomy (re-sectioning of the large intestine) and later deal with her liver due to the urgency of her colon situation.

With her tough fighting spirit, she braved on, choosing to be strong for herself and her family. She went through an urgent surgery and medication she and the family could manage from our means, with everything we could.

Her first operation costed more than Php1M. After that, she will go through series of tests, chemotherapy, operation for the liver and then another separate operation to reattach the large intestine.

Through all the pain and tears, never once she questioned her life’s purpose.She said she wants to live and wants to continue taking care of her family most especially her grandchildren whom she loves so dearly.

While all of this has taken a such big toll on her physically, mentally, and emotionally, a large part of her struggle is finding the financial means to go on. Even with the immediate family’s contributions, what we initially thought would be enough, doesn’t suffice anymore. With so much resilience, she is determined to fight, but challenged by the reality if we can continue to afford to.

We don’t want to lose our Nanay just because of financial constraints.Thus, we are humbly appealing to your good hearts, and seeking your help by praying and in funding her succeeding treatments and surgeries. Your support will mean a lot to Nanay during this most challenging time as she continues fighting for her life. Whether big or small, it will go a long way.
