Help One-eyed Cat get Wound Repair Treatment

Update posted by Ma Isabel Alexandra Arcamo On Jun 09, 2019

6/8/19 Update - PEANUT'S FINALLY CONE-FREE!!! We went to the vet and he finally gave us the ok sign to remove her cone of shame :D Her wound has healed and fur and the whiskers on her head has started to grow back. She still scratches at the area, but we keep an eye on her all the time whenever she grooms or scratches at herself. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and to those who donated, you have greatly helped this sweet girl into her road to recovery! 💖

P. S. I apologize for the blurry pics. She wouldn't stay still!! (as always lmao) Also, she has gotten fat ha!

5/24/19 Update - Sorry for the lack of updates recently, we had family matters to attend to. Peanut's wound had closed on its own as pictured above (TOP Pic was last 5/12/19. BOTTOM Pic is taken 5/24/19) but just to make sure, we'll bring her back to the vet next week to have the wound examined. Hopefully it did close so she'll be back to her usual goofy self permanently!

5/12/19 Update - Not good. Another hole has appeared right after the smaller one closed. The vet recommended to let Peanut rest for another 2 weeks cos she had 3 consecutive wound repair surgeries already. Right now, she's still as squirmy as ever, keeps on climbing up windows and doors - and gets her cone off. Please keep her in your thoughts, and hopefully, hopefully when she'll have her wound repaired again, it'll stay closed.

5/2/19 Update - It's been a while, and we got her stitches removed. Unfortunately, she removed her cone TWICE (she's a squirmy cat) and it resulted in another hole (albeit a small one). The vet recommended to observe the wound for 10 days and clean the area with Povidone-Iodine twice a day. Until then if the wound closes on its own, then we're good to go, hopefully it will. But if not, she'll have to undergo another surgery to close it. 😔 So far, there's little to no pus leaking from the wound. Please, keep Peanut in your thoughts and prayers!

4/18/19 UPDATE! - She had her wound repaired! The doctor gave her antibiotics to combat further infections. I bought her some food as well, to make up for that medicine she'll take. It'll be another two weeks until the stitches will be removed. Please keep my dearest Peanut in your thoughts and prayers for her road to recovery (and avoid further complications).Thank you so much for all the help!
