Hello,

We've quickly set up this page after seeing photos of a dog in a shelter in Thailand. The shelter is over crowded, with currently around 1700 dogs there. The dogs there have been saved from the dog meat trade. We know it's easy to ignore when you don't see it happening around you. But now that we live in Thailand, we're very aware of it happening and want to do something to help.

We specifically want to help dog NP-695 (the dog in the pictures). We want to get him transport to our house on Koh Samui and help him get better. This, unfortunately, costs money. And so we've made this page to see if we can get some help so that we can get him here before it's too late.

If quite a bit is raised then any extra will go straight into helping other dogs at the shelter.

Please donate. Every little bit will help us to help him.

Thank you so much,

Dave and Lauren x

**UPDATE 2nd APRIL**

He's currently at the Nakorn Phanom Shelter. We’ve been talking to Bitter Brownie (Bee) who goes to the shelters every weekend, after doing a full weeks work in Bangkok! She has helped send a lot of dogs to Elfe.

I’ll copy and paste some bits that she has messaged us.

First we need to get her a cage for transporting her. Bee said "The Box for her size should cost around not over 2,500 - 3,000 baht".

We then have to hire the car to pick her up at the shelter & to drop her at Nakorn Phanom airport which might cost around 1,000 baht.

“Flight expense for Nok Air is only 400 baht ( if there is people fly with her ) otherwise it will cost you as shipping which depends on how big for the dog plus the box ? This dog's size should be around not over 1,500 baht”

“and when the dog get in Bangkok, we have to hire the car to pick her up and go staright to clinic in Bkk another 1,000 baht. Cost of the vet in clinic as I have been contacted with is around not over 80 baht per day ( exclude treatment fee which will be paid follow the exactly bills )”

After she’s been treated then we need to get her to Koh Samui.

“Transport hiring from clinic to Suwannaphume airport 1,000 baht) cost of shipping via TG. Around not over 1,500 - 2,000 baht (use the same box)”

At the moment the cost we’re looking at is around 9000 baht. This is without treatment and we’re not sure what help she’ll need.

She can’t travel with the dogs that are leaving KP Shelter in the next few days as they have distemper so she can’t be mixed with them. She should be having a distemper test today, which is another 300 baht, hopefully that will be clear.

I keep using he/she because we still don't know the sex of the poor dog!
