Help Narcissistic Abuse Survivors in Indonesia to Recover and Get Educated (It’s the First and Only Indonesian Platform that has Focus on Concerning about Narc Abuse)

In other more developed countries like US, narcissistic abuse awareness is well-spread, people easily find websites, support groups, and therapists who are experienced and experted about it, all are provided in English.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, I can say the awareness is almost zero, and if I didn't have privilege to understand English, I think I would've never understood this matter. I have tried to look for literature about it in Indonesian language but I got none, even in the library of the most prestigious university in this country.

I myself am a 22 years old student who is diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) caused by 2 years of psychological and physical abuse from my ex-boyfriend.

In January 2019, I started a platform for Indonesian survivors (in Indonesian language) who have the same experience to share their stories through Instagram messages. I posted the awareness and education about this abuse from trusted English sources I could get, summarized it, rewrited it in Bahasa Indonesia, made contents about it, and spread it through instagram anonymously, on behalf of the account called @npdabusesurvivor.id.

It is the first social media place here that is concerning about narcissistic abuse awareness.

I also encourage those survivors, beside of self healing tips I studied, to also come to get professional help. Not everyone has the privilege to get proper help. Some couldn't escape the marriage bond, some getting so desperate and wants to end their life, but professional helps here are not that affordable, and people are getting bad stigmas for going to psychiatrist, or even victim blaming in society (culture really plays role).

This instagram account got positive responses from hundreds of survivors. A lot of them has thanked me to spread the education about it and helped them getting suggestions. Today, the followers is only less than 700. So small compared with the amount of people (in social media accounts based in US, etc.) in other countries who have easily get access to narcissistic abuse knowledge. I am sure there are thousands more, but they are not aware or even knowing there is such abuse, as this abuse is hidden and insidious, and there is no enough awareness about it here.

I have been doing it all alone, and it's not an easy journey for me as I myself haven't fully healed from my own PTSD.

As the amount of survivors who need help has been arising, I can't handle it alone. I plan to make a team to keep handling the account, keeping survivors identities' confidentiality, and making contents to educate more Indonesian-languaged people and spreading the awareness broader. I also aim to make a collaboration with professionnals (clynical psychologists and/ or psychiatrists) to make a safer and better place for the survivors to heal from the Trauma.

It all, of course, need more funds than what I have as a student.

As I have stated above, the donations that are given will be used for:

1. Developing the current online platform in order to spread awareness and educate more people in Bahasa Indonesia.
   • Which is including making a team to work for creating education contents, maintaining the platform, helping the survivors.
2. Helping the survivors who do not have enough privilege and have serious C-PTSD to get help to recover.
3. Making healthier and safer place (group session) to recover with a collaboration with any possible professionals.
