Help my son “Bap” raise funds for his Chemotherapy

My son, John Benedict “Bap” E. Francisco, working as an Overseas Filipino Worker in Macau, is a very loving person to his family and friends, is hardworking and takes very good care of himself. I can also say that he is a very good example of a person with a healthy living.

He has recently been diagnosed with Goblet Cell Carcinoid of the Appendix, a rare (1 in 2M) and aggressive form of cancer that requires urgent and intensive treatment.

His journey started last December 2022 with a diagnosis of Appendicitis. He was hospitalized and was administered with loads of antibiotics, with no surgical procedure. Symptoms improved and was discharged.

April 2023, symptoms of abdominal pain re-emerged. Several blood works and diagnostic tests were done and was scheduled for Appendectomy. Specimen was sent for Histopathology which reveals Goblet Cell Carcinoma, Resection Margin, Positive for Tumor. He was further recommended for another surgical procedure, Right Hemicolectomy of the Colon.

June 2023, Right Hemicolectomy of the Colon and Abdominal nodule excision were performed. Histopathology done with the specimens removed, which reveals Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of Appendix, T4N1, Stage 3 Cancer of the Appendix. Oncologist at this time suggests Chemotherapy of 9 cycles, intervals of at least 3x a month. Wherein, we computed the expenses for the said Chemotherapy, amounting to at least 2Million Php. Moreover, the said treatment will at this time, be out the pocket as his insurance at work is maxed out already.

As a parent, it is devastating to receive such news and witness the toll it takes on our beloved son. My son who is only 31 years old, has shown immense strength and courage throughout this challenging journey. However, the financial burden associated with his treatment is overwhelming for our family.

Chemotherapy, a crucial component of his treatment plan is not only emotionally taxing but also financially draining. Despite having medical insurance, the mounting expenses had gone beyond his coverage. The cost of Chemotherapy sessions, medications, tests, and hospital stays has placed an enormous strain on our limited financial resources.

In the light of this situation, I humbly request your support and generosity to assist us in meeting the financial requirements for my son’s chemotherapy treatment. Any amount, no matter how big or small would make a significant difference in his fight against this aggressive cancer.
