Help my family to get out of Gaza

Dear everyone,

My name is Basem, and I am a Palestinian man from Gaza. I am writing to you today to share my family's story and the devastating impact that the ongoing war in Gaza has had on our lives. Our home and our businesses have been destroyed, leaving us without a place to live and no source of income. The trauma of the bombings and the loss of many of our extended family members have left us feeling hopeless and scared for our safety.

As a father of two young children (3 years old boy, and 1.5 years old baby girl), it has been heartbreaking to see the impact that the war has had on them. They have lost their sense of security and have been forced to witness the horrors of the war firsthand. My wife's dreams of finishing her education in healthcare administration has been shattered, and my business has been ruined, leaving me with no means to support my family.

I want to share with you some pictures of our living room before the war and after. The difference between the two is stark, and it shows the lost memories, safety, and displacement that we have experienced.

Furthermore, my mother's health has deteriorated since the beginning of the war. She has breast cancer and has been unable to get the necessary treatment since all the hospitals have been destroyed. It breaks my heart to see her suffer, and I feel helpless as I cannot afford to make her cross the Egyptian border, which costs a minimum of 5000€ for one person.

I am reaching out to you today because I need your help. I am hoping to raise 35000€ to help my family cross the border and provide them with an opportunity to escape the violence and pursue a safer life, this cost would additionally help my mother seek her chemotherapy treatment.
