Help my friend’s son battle XDP

My friend Leah Laguda Roquez grew up taking care of her father who twisted and turned and needed so much help even in feeding himself. She did not understand why it was so but saw how difficult and heartbreaking it was for her father and everyone in her family. Little did she know that she carried the gene that would eventually get her sons to the same state, and it did. Leah sheds tears and endlessly prays for her only child, her son Daryll, 35 years old, an engineer with a young family and a good job until he felt and could not ignore the twitches and the progressing slurring of speech. They knew what it was. They knew it was XDP.

As found on the internet, "X-linked dystonia parkinsonism (XDP), also known as Lubag Syndrome or X-linked Dystonia of Panay, is a rare x-linked progressive movement disorder with high penetrance found almost exclusively in males from the Panay, Philippines." It severely impacts the male offsprings in the peak of their years. First, her father and uncle, then her nephew and now her son... my friend Leah is barely holding on, she feels the crushing force to her heart for she knows how hard it is for her son and his young family. My friend can barely make ends meet, she does laundry and sells her wares to save up for the staggering medical expenses that all have to be done in Manila where airfare alone can cost a leg.

Wikipedia says "Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a neurosurgical procedure involving the implantation of a medical device called a neurostimulator (sometimes referred to as a 'brain pacemaker'), which sends electrical impulses, through implanted electrodes, to specific targets in the brain (brain nuclei) for the treatment of movement disorders..." This helped my friend's nephew who twitched and hurt so bad no one can help ease the symptoms until they were able to install a DBS. That nephew is back on his feet doing what he was born for: serving our ONE TRUE GOD.

My friend wants the same DBS for her son. It is what's recommended for her son to have but the cost is beyond her family's means the second time hence we are knocking on your hearts's doors, with our hats in hand, opening ourselves to your generosity to raise the needed funds to get my friend's son, Daryll, the DBS that is his only hope.
