Writing this has been one of the most challenging tasks I have ever undertaken in my life.

This fundraiser is the last resort for me to help my family flee the war and be reunited with them. The evolving situation leaves me uncertain about the possibility of ever seeing them, hugging them, and hearing their voices again. Specially after my brother serious injuries.

I survived this war by being a student - studying my last year of medicine when this war happened. You can’t even imagine the feeling of a survivor guilt I have.

My beloved family consists of 10 members

My father(61) who has undergone an open heart surgery recently. who lost his work and the home which was a heritage from our grandfathers since ages. He was attached to every corner of this house.

My mother(59) who has a heart of gold, she was with my brother volunteering in Al-Ahli arab hospital the time it was bombed (The first huge massacre in this war) but thank God they miraculously survived. This was the most horrible night I’ve ever had in my whole life btw. I was looking for their faces in the pictures of dead bodies in the ground. Although it was heartbreaking, she continued her job. Even after she lost her sister with her entire family.

My other 4 sisters and only brother.

My brother has been diagnosed with epilepsy years ago. And due to the lack of medications and medical supplies, his episodes are becoming more and more difficult with stress. He got a sniper shots in his arm and hip. Didn’t get any serious medical help.

With all the love I have for them, and all the fear I have. I can’t contact them except for one to two times/ a week. My brother can rarely contact me after walking for a long distance just to say they are fine. We made it out of our totally destroyed house without anything and now they’re living in a tent in the streets in cold FEBRUARY. They have no electricity, no warm clothes, no network, no internet, no food, not even clean water. I ran out of solutions. The situation is just getting worse day by day. My grandmother died due to complications of lack of clean water.

I couldn’t even celebrate my graduation with my family after long years of hard working hours and nonstop efforts of both me and them. We were always dreaming of this day.
I can barely sleep. I have panic attacks every time they bombed a house in their area. I just can’t live like this.

I feel helpless and frustrated and I just need to get them out because I can’t lose any of them.

Now, it is a matter of life or death for my family. They have lost everything, and the only thing for them to hold on to is their lives. Despite exhausting all conceivable options, the sole remaining glimpse of hope lies in leaving the Gaza strip through the Rafah border, primarily controlled by the Egyptian government. To escape this war, each family member must pay thousands of dollars in order to be added to the departure list at the Rafah crossing border. The funds will be sent to my family by me to support their travel expenses from Gaza to Egypt safely.
