Misia is fighting FIP
She needs your help to finish the treatment!
Less than two months ago, our cat Misia was diagnosed with fatal FIP disease. This sudden news shattered us because nothing had ever indicated such a terrible turn of events. She was on the verge of death within a few weeks of the energetic, full of life kitty.
It was hard to see her in such bad condition. Her organs were inflamed and she had constant fever. The hallmark clinical sign of effusive FIP effusive FIP is the accumulation of fluid within the abdomen or chest, which caused her breathing difficulties. Misia moved like a cat with disabilities who can hardly walk. Weakness and hypoxia made it difficult for her to keep her balance and she fell at each step (see video). She didn't want to eat or drink, essentially our lovely cat lost interest in food and any everyday activity. The condition of the skin has deteriorated. We were worried about pieces of her fur which have started falling out everyday. It was one ot the most noticable symtoms of this horrible disease along with losing weight wich made her extremly skinny. For a long time, Misia's life was supported only by drips and steroid drugs. A transfusion was also needed, the vet said she may not get through the next day...
In those difficult times, however, there appeared a light in the tunnel. We found out about a treatment option that gives positive results, but its costs are beyond our capabilities. The huge expense includes not only high price drugs imported from abroad, but also veterinary care, travel and testing. The whole treatment lasts 84 days and it cannot be stopped even for a moment. Every day, Misia must receive a painful injection. She endures it very bravely! Despite many ups and downs, the therapy began to take effect and the cat felt much better. Blood results have improved significantly, exudates have completely disappeared same as granulomas from the intestines. Her body also began to maintain a constant level of oxygen in the blood on her own and we could stop taking steroid drugs. Misia began to come back to life and slowly took the first steps on the path to health.
UNFORTUNATELY we cannot afford to continue treatment! We've already spent a lot of money and we don't have any more. It breaks our heart unbelievably. Establishing a collection is our last resort. Only 14 days left! The cat gains weight, plays and runs. She has already suffered a lot, as have we, fighting for her every breath. We don't want everything to be wasted, because we love her very much. Please help her finish the therapy! Without your support, the disease can return quickly and despite all our efforts we will have to say goodbye to her!
