Help me rich out more to the Slum Dwellers

Hi! My name is Nemi Phaltual from Delhi, India.

I am from a missionary family, married to son of a Presbyterian missionary-pastor. Currently, I am settled in Delhi with my husband and two sons since the past 10 years.

Living in Delhi, we began to see lots of poor and slum dwellers, leaving in the city’s dirty areas like near dumping grounds or on the banks of open and smelly drainages living on begging or rag picking. The young children are taught to beg, youngsters indulge in cheap drugs and widespread substance abuse mostly sniffing Synthetic Adhesives based on Polychloroprene, Polyurethane, Epoxy, EVA, Lamination and other Elastomers.

The picture above, is the recent slum colony we visited, which has drug addicts, beggars and lepers. Surprisingly they have a small makeshift church for the very few christian dwellers, who do not have any connection with the mainline churches and are even unknown to other christians in the city.

It has always been my burden to preach the gospel which I have long been thinking how and where to start. In a city of many rich non-Christians and Christians, I felt that preaching the gospel to the middle class and rich class be left to the churches and that my mission be based on these poor, downtrodden, addict and forgotten slum dwellers.

Self supporting my mission has become very hard to sustain, but we can’t give up these people, hungry for the gospel.

So, I request all the good Christians and good Samaritans to come forward and fund my self mission to reach out more to the needy and downtrodden people, spread the gospel and preach more.

Help us buy a small car to travel to the slums, rich more corners of the city and give them some financial helps or some of their basic needs.

In a city where all have their own festivals and celebrations, help us make their Christmas a Christmas that can be remembered and celebrated like any one. Help us turn them away from drugs or stealing and turn to Jesus and lead a new life and new way of earning. Help us transform their lives,
