Special Needs Volunteer – volunteer work with Orphans overseas

Last year I was lucky enough to go on a beautiful volunteer experience in Cambodia with Special Needs Children. It was an experience that has left a massive impact on myself, an impact so great, I have made a pact to travel to a new country every year and volunteer with Special Needs Children.

During my stay I took a drive around the city and witnessed the very opposite reality I live back in Australia. I saw many people living below the poverty line with beautiful children playing football in a big patch dirt that is referred to as 'football fields' and close to all without so much as a pair of shoes. Non the less I will never forget each and everyone of them with the biggest, brightest smile on each of their faces.

I volunteered in an orphanage and met all of the children of which had black teeth, no proper clothes and painful wheelchairs made from wood or plastic. The children had barely any toys and used old cloths as reusable nappies. On my last day I spent the last of my money at a big supermarket up town. I bought as many baby bottles, nappies, food and clothes as I could afford and carry, and donated them to the kids back home. The response was overwhelming. My goal is to raise as much money to donate to the children in India and South Africa I will be visiting at the end of the year

I will be heading over in December and spending my Christmas and new years break in two orphanages with more gorgeous kids so I will be trying to head over with what I can to help make this time as special as I can for them.

With that said I will be raising what I can to take with me. The funds I raise will contribute to whatever the kids need at the time of my trip it may be clothes, food, nappies or even a few gifts for them to play with. your donation no matter how big or small with help.
