Help me get brain surgery

My name is Sophia Ava and I’m 30 years old. I live in dhaka,Bangladesh with my single mother.

I grew up always helping others. It was sort of in my nature. Early on I knew that I wanted to work with people. First I went to school to become a certified nurses assistant. Later on I became a registered nurse and finally a nurse practitioner. Today I’m working in a retirement home as operations manager and I also work as a nurse on occasions.

23 February 2018 I received my most devastating news! I found out that I have a brain tumor that’s growing partially in a large important vein. I was told that surgery would be very complicated which is why neurosurgeons here in usa don’t want to operate.

This set me in a fighting mode for my rights! All my life I have worked hard and paid my taxes. Now that I need help from the Bangladesh or others people.

Right now I have a higher risk for having a stroke. I can also develop epilepsy at any point and other neurological problems. My memory can worsen and I may have trouble expressing myself. It can happen right now or next year... There’s no telling when these complications will appear.

I suffer from a lot of headaches and 90 % of them come at night time. The pain wakes me up and I have to sit up and rock back and forth until it finally goes away. The pain will usually last 1-3 hours and sometimes longer. I cannot lay still during this time. A lot of times I’m so tired and in such pain that I end up crying. I’ve tried several medicines and so far without results.

Despite this I go to work every day. I have no choice. I don’t have the economy for staying at home. Besides, that’s not what I want. I want to have my happy and healthy life back. The life I had a few years ago, before the headaches started.

The surgery is to take place in February 2019. That is if I have the money for it. Therefore I have started this fund to pay for the surgery and airfares.

I hope you want to help me out so that I can “get my life back” and go back to fully being there for my family, friends and the people at my work. To be able to do all that without always being tired and having all the pain.
