Help me escape this homophobic hell

Wesam lives in hell, a country where being queer is a sin that must be eradicated, and being assigned female at birth means that you’re less than human. Wesam has both of those traits and is living in their homeland, Saudi Arabia, which threatens their life.

For the sake of Wesam’s safety, we’re using an alias for them in this campaign and I’m their significant other, who’s managing the account from my current country (Spain).

During the 18 years of their life, Wesam has always been suffering from all the injustice induced by people around them. They can't feel same in their own home either, daily insults and death threats cause them to live in a constant state of anger and fear. All of this while struggling with untreated mental disorders.

They can't deal with this any longer, and they wish they could escape to a safe country to live a pleasant life. However if there is no possibility of that happening, they feel extremely depressed, stuck, futile and suicidal. There being no help to treat mental illness, just makes that worse.

We need all the help we can get so Wesam can flee from Saudi Arabia at 21 years old (the legal age for people to travel without a male guardian’s permission) and go to Spain, where their partner lives.

To do that, of course, a lot of money will be needed. Money that Wesam can't acquire since their parents won’t let them get a job. With around 6000 USD (or 5300 EUR), it’ll be enough to help Wesam get their Visa, passport, flight ticket, a place to stay and to cover basic needs.

We’re also in contact with the Spanish LGBTI+ asylum Acathi, which will provide Wesam official identification documents and an authorization to work, among other benefits. However, Acathi will take roughly 6 months to analyze and study Wesam’s situation. Until then, the work permission won’t be given to them. That’s why a great part of the funds will go to their basic living needs during those months.

Any contribution will be a sparkle of hope to the future that Wesam deserves, a hope that everyone needs in their life. It pains me to see such a precious soul hurting in silence. They have a brilliant brain, a strong will and the warmest heart I’ve ever encountered. They deserve this chance and you could give it to them!
