Help Mari Get Well and Go Back to Work Helping Others

Mari D. Felix needs our help for her to undergo two surgeries and go back to work helping others. Mari a former ballerina was working in the USA when several years ago she decided to come home to her home country the Philippines to care for a sick and dying family member. She eventually took on jobs here in Metro Manila while doing volunteer work as Executive Director of the Rizal Artist Guild Inc. Several years later, Mari who is single adopted a young boy- the son of a friend suffering from a terminal illness. Mari takes care of this boy like he is her own flesh and blood. A few years later, another opportunity to help another mother opened up and Mari soon adopted a second son. Mari has been spreading seeds of kindness for several years but has recently been worried about her own health and the future of her two sons. In November of 2016 she had incisional hernia s/p explore laparotomy secondary to strangulated incisional hernia. She was able to get assistance from Department of Social Welfare and Development in the amount of Php 5000 ( USD 100) and from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes for her hospitalization. Mari needs to undergo 2 more surgeries ( Barriatric Surgery and Laparoscopic Hernia Repair) and although she gets help from a Government Hospital, she will have to raise funds to acquire the following medical supplies:

1 pc calibration tube trench

Trocars: 1 pc- Hasson, 2 pcs 10 mm, 3 pcs 5 mm

Port: 1 pc -visiport (covidien) or 1 pc visual guided port (Johnson and Johnson)

Staples: 1 pc- endosurgery (J&J) or 1 pc GIA Xl (Medtronic)

Cartridges: 5 pcs blue plus 1 pc white ( J&J)or 5 pcs violet plus 1 pc black (Medtronic)

Note: Cartridges have to be compatible

Mesh: organic/composite mesh biggest size for repair hernia

Mari's friends, former classmates and family members have kindly donated funds to Mari but we are currently trying to help her with the 2 more surgeries needed plus medicines and supplies amounting to Php 300,000.00
