Everyone agrees that domestic violence is a horrible phenomenon that exists in every country and in every social class. When it comes to domestic violence victims, we usually think about abused women, but there are millions of suffering men who are still marginalized. That is especially true in my country.

Being ridiculed while seeking help is a familiar situation for many men who try to get out of abusive homes and relationships. "Oh, did a girl beat you up? Man up!" And even if they find someone willing to listen to them, it could take weeks and months to get some actual help (or even to talk to someone about it!).

It's high time to say this loud and clear: Men can be abused too!!!

For years almost nothing's been done about it. I witnessed my uncle suffering all throughout my childhood and now decades later, nothing has changed. I have decided that enough's enough.

I know I will not change the world in one night, but by taking things one step at a time, I hope to be able to help men take back their lives. However, some funds are needed to get this going. I need to:

Set up a helpline for abused men (providing both psychological and social help)

Start raising awareness about domestic violence against men

Start changing society's perceptions about men who seek help in these situations (ambitious, I know, but someone has to do it!)

I have many more ideas and plans for the future and hopefully once the first steps are a success, some bigger leaps can be taken.

Men matter, men can be abused and most importantly, men should be helped!
