Help Leia get to Brazil for Junior World Surf Champs

I am honored to have been chosen to represent New Zealand at the 2023 ISA Junior World Surfing Championships in Brazil. Representing NZ again in the under 16 division was my goal this year and I'm super stoked to be part of the team!

It's an awesome opportunity to travel to Brazil which I'm most grateful for, but being across the other side of the world comes at a cost! Each team member needs to finance their own travel expenses of approximately $12k.

To raise the funds, I am holding some fundraising events. However I have set up this page for those who would like to support my journey but cannot make the fundraising events. All contributions go directly towards flights, accommodation, coaches and management and entry fees.

Fundraising Events:

The first event has just taken place - two of my teammates and I held a Groms Surf Day on the Coromandel during Labour weekend. It was a great success and we had both girls and boys frothing over the Pauanui waves! Thank you to everyone who supported the event!

The second event is a Quiz Night with raffles and an auction on the 28th October at the Whangamata Memorial Hall. For more information see the Whangamata Area School FB page and our instagram.

Your support in any way or form would be greatly appreciated. I am beyond grateful for the support from everyone so far!

Updates... I'm training hard in preparation, I'm surfing as much as possible and training at the gym under the guidance of Farley Performance Training. As a team we have also attended two training camps in Mount Manganui & Raglan which have been amazing experiences.

I will keep you updated on progress as we get nearer to the event. It's getting super exciting and I can't wait to do NZ and my home towns of Piha & Whangamata proud!
