Help Keng fight Cancer!

His name is Keng, which means "skilled" or "talented" in Thai. He's the brightest person you would have ever met even during the difficult times. I'm not a good writer so I have translated Keng's own writing back on February 1, 2017 in his Facebook here:

What do you do when the doctor tells you that you have the final stage cancer with no cure...?

Hello everyone -- parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and friends.. My name is Keng, 31 years old. I'm currently having a cancer called "Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma" (ACC) a type of salivary gland cancer that very little people will have. It's also the type of cancer that does not respond to common treatments like Chemotherapy and has been spreading down to both lungs. So they can't be removed by surgery or radiation. There is very little or almost none of the related research and development on this type of cancer. So there was no good treatments that can cure this cancer. Nonetheless I've tried 12 treatments for chemotherapy but none of that has stopped it. With the side effects from those chemicals I can only keep following up on my conditions monthly. The doctor told me last year that I could die as soon as within one year, which was so hard to accept. With all my spirit to fight, after the chemotherapy I turned to other types of treatments like Naturopathy, Psychotherapy, Arts, and exercises that fit the current disease. Even though the disease is still there but it hasn't spread out too much and the tumors are growing quite slowly. The doctor asked me if I can still breath fine every time. And I'm still alive today.

Currently I'm still working and earning money to take care of my family and also treat myself. I tried to be as normal and happiest as I can with hope that one day I will find the right cure to get rid of it completely. I am then inspired to create this Facebook page to help inspire others who are facing the same disease, or those who are disheartened in life, to have the strength to keep fighting this life obstacles. At least I hope I can be of help to fellow patients who have no hope with my knowledge and experience for the past 3 years, which is the only thing I can give now. I hope this page will be useful for you. I believe that we need to learn to give before we can receive because this disease is not far from all of us anymore.

First of all, I'd like to talk our "hearts" because telling your heart to accept this is important. Some of my friends who lost their hearts (spirit) quickly left this world. If you're diagnosed with cancer, the first thing you have to do is accept it. Keep up your spirit. You have to console and pull hard your heart that is falling into abyss. The heart that thinks you're dying. Pull it back in place. Find your own inspiration to live, whether it be your girlfriend, boyfriend, parents, children, brothers and sisters, your dreams, pets. Have you heard the saying "Your hear is the boss. Your body is the slave"? This is the time to use it. I will tell the details in later posts. Please follow me.

If your heard is ready to fight, no matter how hard it is, you will be able to look for all kinds of possibilities to survive and to live with inspiration. Always believe that what you are trying is going to work out! If you only think it is good for you, it is already impacting your body positively. Medically this is called the "placebo effect". Just believe. Have faith and your life will change. If you yourself can't believe it will work out, how will it be? Be ready and accept the change in yourself because now you will become special.

Like how I am still fighting with cancer today by myself for the past 3 years. I've fallen, afflicted, and lost so much money. No matter how hard it is I will endure so that I can spend more time with my loved ones. I still believe that one day I will find a way out of this disease, whether it be by my own practice or new technologies. I just need that smallest chance. Even when the doctors today keep telling me "there is no cure because there has been no research". So brutal. No one knows how long you have to pay for this karma. As long as you still breath, do your best.

Currently I'm studying the new technology called "Immunotherapy" and "Genetherapy". I'm doing tests to see if they will be effective. However, the costs can be from hundred thousands to millions of baht (thousands and up to many ten thousand US dollars). Now I need your support. I want these opportunity but still lacking resources. Since that post, Keng has tried Genetheraphy and unfortunately the cancer did not stop. He was given the opportunity to join the Immunotherapy program this time. The treatment will be in Fuda Hospital in China and Keng will need 200,000 Baht (approx. $6,000) for the first treatment. The doctor will re-evaluate the effect of this therapy later so we will know how many more treatments he will need. For now, I'm hoping this fundraiser page will be another channel for many of you who has known Keng, working, studying, or travelling with him, to give to him what you can.
