Help Karen to Participate Asia Student Summit

I am a UPLB student currently enrolled under the B.S. Forestry Program of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, and was chosen as a delegate for the upcoming 2018 Asia Student Summit to be held on July 16-20, 2018 at Seoul, Republic of South Korea. Together with other Filipino student delegates I will be representing the Philippines and UPLB in this year’s event with the theme “Encouraging Talented Young Leaders for Better Development of the Country”.

As a child coming from a broken family, being raised solely by my mother with the help of some of our extended family members for almost 16 years, I have always aspired to become a student of the University of the Philippines knowing that I would be able to have high quality education without being buried under a ton of debt. I was blessed to be accepted in the Certificate in Forestry Program of A.Y. 2014-2015, where I was able to graduate, and continue on to the Bachelor’s degree program. Although I have had several difficulties in my academics, I have managed to keep my head above water and have never been dismissed. I was also able to somehow alleviate my daily financial needs by becoming a student assistant in the College Secretary’s Office of my College.

After being able to adjust to College life and having good academic standing I have joined UP Photographer’s Society and the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Oblation Corps, adding to my existing affiliation with the National Alliance of youth Leaders, NCR Chapter. Early this year I began looking for avenues to make my education more holistic, upon learning that there are opportunities for undergraduate students to take part in international conferences and summits inside and outside the Country, which prompted me to apply for this Summit.

To be able to secure my slot and participate, I need to gather approximately Php 85,000.00. In line with this I would appreciate any financial support that your kind office would be able to extend to my plight. I have attached several pieces of communication which will give supporting information about the Summit and my situation.
