Help Joel’s Gallbladder Operation

Hello and I hope you are all doing fine and staying safe.

I am launching this fundraising campaign in behalf of my elder cousin Joel Gamban and his wife Ate May.

Kuya Joel Gamban was brought to a government/public hospital (Ospital ng Makati) last July due to an unbearable pain. Early diagnostics by attending physicians indicated something wrong with his colon. A CT-scan showed there's a mass in his abdomen and the resident surgeon advised that he undergo colonoscopy. Unfortunately, the hospital has no facilities for colonoscopy so they were discharged in a week's time of confinement and they had to look for other clinics or hospitals for colonoscopy before Ospital ng Makati could accomodate him again. The hospital bill was luckily shouldered by their health card issued by Makati. Without the health card, he and May wouldn't know how they'd be able to pay the charges. Their only working son only recently found a job whose salary won't be enough for their basic expenses.

Ate May contacted different hospitals. After asking the costs, she was able to find a good hospital in Sta Mesa. The doctor said that based on Joel's laboratory test results, the colonoscopy was not advisable because there was a pouch/hole in his colon and the colonoscopy might aggravate his condition. He has other immediate concerns beginning with his gallbladder condition, kidney stones, and ruptured eardrum which all require surgery.

We are asking your help regarding the cost of his gallbladder operation which is the first priority or concern. The estimated cost of hospitalization, doctor's fees, medicines during and after operation is around P400,000.00.

At this time, we continue to seek help/assistance from others including relatives who are also experiencing financial crisis due to the pandemic.

As Kuya Joel and Ate May are not well-versed with the Internet, I am helping them out and writing/making this appeal in Kuya Joel's behalf.
