Help Jeco Go to South Korea for the Asia Student Summit 2018

Hello! I am Jericho Isaac Magallanes, from the University of Santo Tomas. I recently got accepted as one of the youth leaders in the Asia Student Summit 2018 that will be held from July 16-20, 2018, and will take place in Seoul, South Korea.

The Asia Student Summit was originally started in 2016 with the goal of encouraging youth leaders across Asia to be the pioneer of development in their countries by exposing them not only to the educational system of another Asian country, but also their economy and culture. The summit will help the youth to provide innovative and creative solutions to solve current issues by sharing ideas and learning from different perspectives with the hopes to help them develop their respective countries.

The five-day summit would include campus visits in Kyunghee University and Seoul National University, company visits in KBS On and Samsung D'light, and lastly Heritage place visits in Gwanghamun and Gyeongbokgung. There would also be a group presentation, symposium and a culture show.

I became interested in the culture of South Korea since High School. I had a fondness in their media, culture, history, politics or in other words all of what is to know about their country I wanted to explore all of it. This heavily influenced me to break out of my comfort zone and gave me the courage to give a shot to this summit in the hopes of finally being able to learn and experience the life in South Korea. I could also say that the thought of being able to visit South Korea someday never got out of my mind. Finally this program came and gave me hope to that dream happen. This is a very rare opportunity for me and who knows when will the next one be, the reason why I would never let go of it and will do all I can to make it happen. Lastly, I know that this summit will help me gain learnings and life experiences from different cultures that will help me grow as a youth leader who will make the world better starting from my own country.

Given this circumstance, I humbly seek help for the funding of this summit. The funds raised will be used for my registration and flight fees. I am very grateful for every help that I can get and will be very much appreciated.
