Help Gina Apostol’s Medication for Lung Cancer Stage 4

My mom is a hard-working and selfless person. She spends most of her time finding ways on how to earn money for our everyday needs. She is working as an Office Coordinator for the past 21 years and at the same time, has multiple sidelines to help pay our monthly bills.

It started with a simple cough on October 2019. She thought it was just an allergy so she tried to cure it on her own. January 2020, she complained about the pain in her arms, back and neck. The pain was unbearable so she decided to go to the doctor. There, she was diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis. After a month of therapy, the pain on her back was cured however her cough was continuous.

She then went to the hospital and undergo through a lot of procedures. After many tests, she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer Stage 4 on June 26, 2020. She began her medication with first generation targeted therapy (Gefitinib) on July 3, 2020 which is worth PHP 26,000 monthly. The medication was effective for 7 months, but the tumor started to grow after that. So the doctors decided to prescribe the 3rd generation targeted therapy (Tagrisso) which costs almost PHP 100,000 a month.

Our family's financial status cannot afford to produce that much. My father has a heart condition and is still working as a Parish Staff. My sister and I are also working while our 2 younger siblings are still studying. We tried asking for financial assistance in different government offices, started a small business and reach out to our families and friends. The funds we raised were already consumed by the medicine she is taking. Now we can no longer even buy a month worth of medicine.

As the eldest of her 4 children I am knocking on your generous hearts to help us raise at least 4 months worth of her medicine. Was quite hesitant at first in sharing this but my mom and our family really needed the help we can get in order to survive this.
