My sister Lucille has been battling against cervical cancer since last year. She went through operation, chemotherapy and radiation. Except for the constant monitoring, we thought that was the end of it.
However, early this March, after that short-lived triumph, a lump started to grow on her neck and rapidly increased in size. The doctors said it is Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes.
Today, she was supposed to be accompanied by my other sister Judith to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to request for financial assistance. However, she was rushed to the hospital because of shortness of breath and blood on her sputum. Several veins surfaced on her chest because of breathing exertion. Not only is the lump causing a massive swelling and angry color on her neck, internally it is also causing pressure on her air pipes so that breathing is so labored and talking is reduced to a whisper. Lying prone is not possible so that she sleeps while sitting. We know she doesn't get that much needed rest. She also has not been eating well because swallowing is difficult.
We would not have dared bothered you but we have no choice. Her medical insurance from the company is about to run out because of constant use.
In behalf of my sister Lucille, we are appealing to your kind hearts for financial assistance on her hospital and medication expenses. We cannot return the same favor to you but our prayers are that God would bless you a thousand fold. Thank you, sincerely.
