Help Freyia, the Ukrainian refugee dog with 16 allergies and cystic mastosis

We've named her Freyia, after the war and love goddess. Rescued from the Moldavian streets, and most surely a war refugee, she's the most lovable dog-puppy you could've ever met.

In fact, whenever she'd see you, she'd greet you with her cute paws on your lap, wagging that cute tail and puppy eyes the life out of you, rising your endorphins levels to the sky.

She makes everyone adore her instantly.

SHE IS THERAPY! But she also needs our help, or she will continue to hurt herself, scratching her skin off until she bleeds, because of her allergies and atopic dermatitis that didn't respond to treatment yet.

Her story is really sad, but hopefully with a happier ending.

She was rescued from the streets of Moldova, where lots of refugees abandoned their dogs due to the impossibility of legally crossing the border with them.

They needed special passports and vaccines that would cost hundreds of dollars and would take months. She's most definitely been to a war zone because she's deadly afraid of helicopter sounds. She was for about 2 weeks a stray dog, forced to provide its own food and defend itself from whatever came its way. She is now afraid of large dogs...

We patiently waited 3 weeks trying to bring her into her new home, in Romania. We fought for her. And we've succeeded, she now has a loving family and a warm place to be in, being as grateful and goofy as she can.

Someone trusted to send her to us to be her guardian angels and best friends.

She brings love to anyone she meets, she also has Facebook fans - you can search by the #cuțuFreyia hashtag or Cuțu Freyia - refugiata ucraineanca FB page, and see her entire new home, fam&friends, and medical journey.

She also"serves" as a great therapy dog for anxiety and depression, so she gives back to the community somehow. :D

So we've spent nearly 3000 dollars in the past 6 months with her special needs: vet, medical bills, overall health check, blood tests which came positive for 16 allergies (food and environment, like dust that makes her scratch her skin off and reverse sneeze), special diets, special clothes that help her not to scratch all the skin off, lots of beds that need washing constantly, shampoos, sprays and lotions for her skin condition, antihistamines that didn't work as we expected.

Going to try some new vaccines that cost a lot, then auto-vaccines.

We still have a long way, lifetime needs for treatments and lots of medical check-ups, really expensive in our country.

But we will fight to save her. Again and again.

Am numit-o Freyia, după zeița războiului și a iubirii. Salvată de pe străzile Moldovei și, mai mult ca sigur, refugiată din războiul de la granița cu țara noastră, este cea mai adorabilă cățelușă pe care ați fi putut-o întâlni vreodată.

De exemplu, ori de câte ori te-ar vedea, te-ar întâmpina punându-și lăbuțele ei drăguțe în poala ta, dând dintr-o coadă drăguță și făcându-ți ochi de cățeluș, ridicându-ți nivelul de endorfine până la cer.

Freyia reușește cumva să facă pe toată lumea să o adore instantaneu.

ESTE TERAPIE CURATĂ! Dar are nevoie și de ajutorul nostru, altfel va continua să se rănească singură, zgâriindu-se până la sânge, din cauza alergiilor și a dermatitei atopice care nu a răspuns încă la tratament.

Povestea ei este foarte tristă, dar sperăm că cu un final mai fericit.

A fost salvată de pe străzile din Moldova, unde o mulțime de refugiați și-au abandonat câinii din cauza imposibilității de a trece legal granița cu ei.

Aveau nevoie de pașapoarte speciale și de vaccinuri care costau sute de dolari și durau luni de zile. Mai mult ca sigur că a fost într-o zonă de război, pentru că îi este extrem de frică de sunetele elicopterelor. A fost timp aproximativ 2 săptămâni un câine vagabond, obligată să își asigure singură hrana și să se apere de tot ce îi ieșea în cale. Acum îi este frică de câinii de talie mare...

Am așteptat cu nerăbdare 3 săptămâni încercând să o aducem în noua ei casă, în România. Ne-am luptat pentru ea. Și am reușit, acum are o familie iubitoare și un loc călduț în care să stea, fiind cât se poate de recunoscătoare și năzdrăvană.

Cineva a avut încredere să o trimită la noi pentru a fi îngerii ei păzitori și cei mai buni prieteni.

Ea aduce iubire tuturor celor pe care îi întâlnește, are și fani pe Facebook - puteți căuta după hashtag-ul #cuțuFreyia sau pe pagina de FB Cuțu Freyia - refugiata ucraineanca, și să vedeți întregul ei nou cămin, familia și prietenii, precum și parcursul ei medical.

De asemenea, ea "deservește" ca un excelent câine de terapie pentru anxietate și depresie, așa că dă cumva înapoi bunătate spre comunitate. :D

Până acum am cheltuit aproape 3000 de dolari în ultimele 6 luni cu nevoile ei speciale: veterinar, facturi medicale, control general de sănătate, analize de sânge care au ieșit pozitive pentru 16 alergii (alimentare și de mediu, cum ar fi praful care o face să se scarpine pe piele și să strănute invers), diete speciale, haine speciale care o ajută să nu se scarpine toată pielea, o mulțime de paturi care trebuie spălate constant, șampoane, spray-uri și loțiuni pentru starea ei de piele, antihistaminice care nu au funcționat așa cum ne așteptam.

Urmează să încercăm niște vaccinuri noi care costă foarte mult, apoi auto-vaccinuri.

Mai avem un drum lung, nevoi pe viață pentru tratamente și multe controale medicale, foarte scumpe în țara noastră.

Dar vom lupta pentru a o salva. Din nou și din nou.
