Hi guys!

My name is Frances Anne Guzman from the Philippines. I would have never pictured myself in this kind of situation but last March 2022, I received a news that would forever change my life. I was only supposed to get a clearance from my Doctor so that I could undergo an operation that would treat my ovarian cysts, but unfortunately it was discovered that my Kidneys were failing, miserably. I was in denial during that time, that this may be due to some error but after a series of tests it was confirmed that I have End Stage Renal Disease or Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease. My Kidneys are failing and is only functioning at 6% .

It took me a while to fully grasps the severity of this chronic illness that made my life difficult and shorter. It made my body frail, I had to give up on a lot of food that I loved eating as there were many diet restrictions. I was hospitalized frequently and due to the complications that were caused by my failing kidneys, I was also diagnosed with Heart Failure. Depression also took its toll on me and to be honest there were a lot of times where I wanted to give up but I realized that I have more to live and fight for.

As of now I am on a lot of medications and also undergoing Hemodialysis or Renal Replacement Therapy twice a week, a procedure where they would place two large needles in my arm and would hook me to a machine for 4 hours per session so that I could get to live longer. Hemodialysis can help me get through the week, it's not a long term solution and also not a cure for Kidney Disease. The ultimate goal would be to get a Kidney Transplant.

A Kidney Transplant can help patients live longer, improve their quality of life, fewer diet restrictions, and no more hemodialysis sessions. But getting a Kidney Transplant costs a fortune and sadly not all Kidney Disease patients have the money to pay for this operation. Me and my family would like to humbly ask for your help in my journey to get a new kidney and help me live longer. Any amount would do as all of your help would be used for a good cause.
