Campaign Story
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the entire province of Bohol, my home province in the central part of the Philippines yesterday which claims as of this posting 110 lives. Several injured and countless who have lost their homes along with destructed bridges, roads, public markets, municipal halls, business establishments and the most heartbreaking of all - centuries old churches which served as our symbol of faith and tourist attractions.
People were displaced in evacuation centers in the affected municipalities right now. To date, 10 municipalities are still isolated and need rescue. The people need ready to eat food, bottled waters, and even tents especially as rains occur from time to time and people are scared to go home yet in their respective homes due to aftershocks (830 recorded by PHILVOCS as of this posting).
My friends and I are organizing a fund raising initiative to help those in need in our own little way. We plan to coordinate it with the local government of those affected municipalities. We plan to buy ready to cook food, bottled water, toiletries and other necessities for the people and any help we could extend to the victims and their families.
We are knocking your benevolent hearts to help the people of my beloved province who are affected of the killer earthquake. Even the smallest donation is welcome and very much appreciated. It could mean a lot and uplift my fellow Boholanos who are in distress right now.
