We are from a town called Svishtov in the North of Bulgaria. After the municipal kennels in town closed down, we found a place to shelter the dogs after threats from the authorities that they were going to ‘get rid of them’ out of town. We have been looking after the dogs for more than a year to date with hardly any assistance, save for the occasional small donation from a handful of friends. Some of the dogs have been lucky to find loving forever homes but the number of those still in our care continues to grow. We have also created an improvised space for cats and currently have 9 dogs and 6 cats in our care. Our improvised shelter is out of town and in the winter the trips are both time-consuming and expensive (neither of us has a car). Any donation, no matter how small, would help us keep our four-legged friends fed and warm and cover their spaying and other vet bills. We sincerely appreciate your help!
