Help for Mel

This fund-raising account is for the benefit of Melissa Macaraya who is currently in the ICU of Perpetual Succor Hospital, Cebu City, Cebu. Melissa or Mel (as we fondly call her) is a wife and a mother of a 9 yo boy. She’s been with Lexmark Cebu for 10 yrs now and is dearly loved by her subordinates, colleagues and friends. Mel suffered asthma attack in the evening of March 21 while having dinner with her family. As explained by her attending physicians, her lungs collapsed during the attack that caused a lack of oxygen in her brains. As an effect, she’s been having brain seizures. Last update (few days ago), was that there were already some slight movements with her hands and her eyeballs.

Due to the length of time of her confinement plus the rental of the machines for the monitoring of her conditions, her hospital bills had been mounting and her insurance claims had already been fully utilized. Thus, we are knocking to your kind hearts for some support for her continued hospitalization. There was already discussion on putting her on homecare which still the same would require some financial support for her medications and machines. The homecare set-up is still being deliberated since she is still in a very critical and unstable condition.
