Help Cath Fight Cancer

Hi everyone! I am Catherine Dimdam, a mother of two wonderful kids. I was recently diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. My family and I are knocking on your generous hearts to provide us with a little help with our fight.

I humbly request that you read through and share my story to your friends, family and to everyone who you care for to raise awareness with this disease.

Nasopharyngeal Cancer is a rare type of cancer. It can't easily be detected until you show signs and symptoms at the late stages.

My first symptom started with a simple headache. From frequent headaches, I started to experience blurry vision. I didn’t thought it was something serious so I never bothered going to the hospital.

Mid of October I noticed that I'd constantly hear continuous ringing in my left ear. Few days after that, I started having a hard time hearing then the left part of my neck got swollen. I also started seeing blood in my nose and saliva. That moment I knew something is wrong with my body.

The doctor initially thought that it was just an ear infection and mumps, however, after a week on medication nothing happened. My doctor decided to do a nasal endoscopy. She confirmed that she saw some bleeding in my left nostril. She mentioned that I'm exhibiting signs of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma. She advised me to undergo a CT scan and the report showed a 2cm tumor.

The doctor then advised for me to undergo a biopsy. When we had the result, she explained that the tumor is malignant and that I have Nasopharyngeal Cancer, stage 4A. And what I have is an aggressive type.

This experience taught me that we have to listen to our body. If it's telling you that something is wrong, don’t sleep on it. Our health is our wealth. This trial will not break me but will make me more faithful to him. I am fully trusting our dear Lord that he will give me the strength that I need for the days ahead —strength for my body to keep pushing, and strength for my mind to keep going. My spirit will not be deterred.

I still haven’t started my treatment, however, we have already spent close to PHP100,000 for tests and procedures alone.

We are truly grateful for the moral and financial support from our family and friends, however, the treatments, procedures, test are too expensive, that's why we created this campaign.

We are humbly asking for any assistance to help me in the funding of my treatments. My kids are still young. I want to witness them growing up. I don't want to leave a void in my family, relatives and friends' hearts. I know I will get through this with the help of my family, friends and generous people like you.
