Hello, my name is Calista, and I need your help. I'm a 23-year-old professional Muay Thai fighter, and my life revolves around the sport I have dedicated my entire existence to. However, I find myself facing a monumental challenge that threatens to derail my dreams: a torn ACL (stage 3) that requires immediate surgery.

My Unforgettable Journey as a Fighter:

My journey as a fighter began when I made the decision to move to Thailand on my own at the age of 15. Coming from a very hard and tough background; I sacrificed everything I have and dedicated my entire life to follow this dream. Over the next five years, I poured my heart and soul into Muay Thai, working hard and making myself a name all over Thailand and internationally. Achieving over 70 fights and becoming the WMC World Champion. But my path was far from easy.

Overcoming the Unthinkable:

During my time in Thailand, I encountered unimaginable difficulties. Overcoming situations and problems no person should ever face, specially at such a young age. There were moments when I had no place to call home, over the years I endured severe daily abuse from my trainer, both mental and physical. Turning me into a World Champion, but also leaving me with severe trauma and mental problems. Yet, even as a young teenager, I found the strength to persevere, battling adversity with an unbreakable spirit. I worked harder than anyone, dedicated every second of my life into becoming better and through all the obstacles, I made myself a big name all over Thailand. Adapting the Thai culture and living with a Thai family, Thailand became my home. Eventually, circumstances led to me to leave Thailand, but my passion for Muay Thai remained undiminished.

A New Chapter in Mexico:

This year, in February, I started a new chapter in my fighting career by relocating to Tulum, Mexico. Here, I was taken under the care of Brooke and Eddie Farrell, who embraced me into the Tulum Muaythai family. They gave me a home and a family; a new strain of hope. Their unwavering support has allowed me to continue pursuing my dreams. There are no words to explain how thankful I am for the opportunity they have given me. I am so thankful to everyone here for embracing me and giving me a new family and a place to call home, showing me the care and support I’ve never experienced before.

The Setback:

Despite my determination, my journey took an unexpected turn. I was preparing for one of the biggest fights in my career, fighting for the Budosento belt here in Mexico. However, fate had other plans, and I suffered a career-ending knee injury during a clinching session. I was swept and tore my ACL. An MRI revealed the devastating news: a torn ACL (grade 3) and additional injuries in my knee that require surgical intervention.

Urgent Need for Assistance:

Compounding my challenge is the fact that I lack health insurance, both in Mexico and Estonia. This means that the cost of the surgery, pre-surgery consultations, physio and rehabilitation falls entirely on my shoulders. I’m a fighter surviving solely off of my fight purse. Not only the cost of the surgery, but also the rehab, physio, medication and all additional costs after surgery.

Your Support Matters:

I'm reaching out to you today, asking for your support to help me get back on my feet and back into the ring. Asking for help has always been a big problem for me. At just 23 years old, I have a promising career ahead of me, with many accomplishments left to achieve. I have poured my heart and soul into this. I have nothing else left besides Muay Thai. I am always early in the gym, the last one to leave; constantly pushing my limits, going the extra mile, pushing myself above limits. Always putting in the extra work, doing the extra knees, going for the run, spending hours on the bag or in front of the mirror just perfecting every little detail. This is my heart, my everything. My whole world revolves around this. My life hasn’t been easy; I’ve been struggling with suicide and mental issues for years. But through all the obstacles, sacrifices and pain I’ve faced, nothing has been able to extinguish my fire and the love I have for Muay Thai. Muay thai is my sole existence; there is nothing else. Muay Thai isn’t just my passion, is my very essence. Through no matter what, I will always get up every day and keep fighting for this dream and this passion that I have in my heart. I am more than grateful to have been given the opportunity and a chance to start again here at Tulum Muay Thai. I promise I won’t let my family down and work even harder now to make everyone here proud. Now I have a family and something to fight for. I have already come so far, I promise to keep giving my everything every single day.

Please consider donating to my cause and helping me continue pursuing my passion for Muay Thai. Your support means the world to me, and together, we can ensure that my fighting spirit stays alive and well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my journey.

My accomplishments:

I have around 70 fights and I’ve fought with a lot of big name fighters. I have wins over the one championship champion Allycia Rodrigues, Paloma from Phuket Fight Club, Hongkhao, multiple times champion Saifa Sor Suparat, etc

  • Was going to say you could come to Australia, acl surgery is half the price. Could of stayed at a granny flat that’s literally a one bedroom house with unlimited food just a suggestion to help out that’s well out of the way. But more amazing people are helping out which is so good to see :))
