Everyone should have access to quality education, as should Tanzanian youth. Unfortunately, Tanzanians often lose their opportunity to study after primary school, as they do not speak English, the language of instruction in secondary schools. This is illustrated by the 50% nation-wide dropout rate from secondary schools.
LESCOTA, a registered Tanzanian NGO, is attempting to improve this situation by building Mango school, a pre and primary school in Matekela, Ruvuma region, Tanzania. Mango school will provide facilities for local youth in Matekela to learn English. Thus, more Matekelan youth will be able to participate in secondary and higher education.
However, we need your help to finish the construction of Mango school!
What exactly are we building?
In order to get registered with the government as a Pre & Primary English medium school and being able to serve 320 local students expected at Mango school, we are constructing two more classrooms along side the followings completed buildings:-
● 4 staff rooms
● 10 latrines pits
● a dormitory building
What are the costs of the project?
The costs of the construction of two more classrooms roofs is $1,000
How will donations be used?
Since LESCOTA’s team consists only of non-paid volunteers, we will use all donations received to cover the costs of two more classrooms at Mango school. In case we receive more donations than the target, the excess funds will be used to cover the operational costs of Mango school.
What are the guarantees that your money will reach the youth in need?
