I’m Bjorn Formosa, a Maltese citizen and a terminally-ill patient suffering from ALS. I was diagnosed with ALS just six years ago, and throughout these years, I managed to open a nursing home for ALS sufferers like me. At that time there wasn't much knowledge about this condition and with the help of both social and local media, we succeeded in collecting funds to build and construct this most needed home.
The first home (DAR Bjorn) wasn't big enough, so we decided to go big! We purchased an area of 4500sqm and hired a constructor and got going. We are now at the final stages to finish this ALS Home but we need a further €1m to complete this unique project. This nursing home will help people suffering from ALS and other neurological disorders. My target is to open this home by the end of next year and before it's too late for me. I won't lose hope!
