Help Betel realise her dream of attending a program at Harvard Medical School

Like most people from a low and middle income country, I used to think the possibility of attending a program at one of the most prestigious colleges in the world was a distant dream untill I received my letter of acceptance to the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) at Harvard Medical School few months back. I was offered research associate position in area of global health and surgery for period of one year at the school.

As a medical doctor who aspires to become a surgeon that advocates for equity in the field to ensure access to safe and timely surgical service in my country and globally, this came as golden opportunity. I will get the chance to work and learn along side highly experienced global surgery professionals on various research projects across the globe to create evidence that will improve acess to equitable surgical services for all.

However, to attend the the program it is required to provide total of around $40,000 as means to financially support one self for a duration of the one year at PGSSC. Coming from a low and middle income country and currently working at governmental hospital with monthly salary of $100 it has become impossible to cover required amount on my own.

Considering the above, I kindly ask for any finaicial support you can extend to help me attend the program of my dreams at Harvard Medical School.
