was by distribution of dry rations to over 300 household through local contributions. Now, our volunteers in the community are assisting workers who do not have ration-cards in construction sites and slum communities to apply for government rations. These poor workers would receive a few kgs of rice and wheat (unground) only but no dal, sugar, oil, tea, etc. Hence, there is a need to provide for these essential ration items as well.

Domestic workers who are mostly women are also hit hard by the lock-down. All of them cannot work in households and are not even sure if they would ever be paid for lost wages during the lock-down period. It is our endeavor to provide for these ration items and some financial aid to such workers who have completely run out of their savings.

As the threat of lock-down continues, workers will require minimum monetary support for their loss of income in addition to essential supplementary rations. We are requesting your support to join hands with NIRMANA to help raise Rs 30 lakhs for migrant construction and domestic workers.

Your contribution of Rs 1000/- will help to provide a house-hold for one month as follows :-

(1) Rs 500/- for a dry ration packet consisting of 2 kg of dal, 2 litre of oil, 500 gms of tea, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of salt. (Rice and wheat is being made available )

(2) Rs 500/- as minimal financial assistance to purchase milk, medicines, vegetables etc

Even a minimum of ₹500 would go a long way to help someone’s hunger
