Help Andrea fight Cancer: A Fundraiser for Chemotherapy

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to view my fundraising campaign. I'm Alyssa Jane Lino Calanno, the younger sister of Andrea Lyn Lino Del Rosario.

I have created this campaign to humbly ask in the goodness of your heart if you can please help our family and my sister with her financial and medical needs so that she can triumph over her battle with Cancer.

Andrea Lino Del Rosario was recently diagnosed with a Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell lymphoma (Stage 3 Cancer) and is the Mom of a 1-year-old little girl.

Last July 2023, she experienced shortness of breath and dry cough. Since over-the-counter medicines did not work for her and did not feel any relief after a few days of taking them, she consulted the doctor and was advised to have an X-ray. Upon getting the result, the doctor saw that she had (2 liters) of fluid in her lungs and needed to be confined ASAP to do the extraction procedure of the fluids and to assess further the cause of fluid production in her lungs through performing multiple tests as there are three (3) possible causes -- 1) Pneumonia, 2) Tumor, 3) Tuberculosis. During the 1st extraction, a few ml of the fluids were not drained out of her lungs to avoid lung infection. After a few days, her 2nd extraction pushed through and the doctor noticed that it added up 500ml of fluid in just 3 days. Since the fluid in her lungs was not emptied on the 2nd extraction, she needed to undergo the 3rd extraction after a few days to extract the remaining fluid and perform the CT Scan. Multiple tests were done including the test to identify if she had Tuberculosis.

Aug 2023, we found out that she was negative for Tuberculosis, but her CT Scan showed that she had a tumor in the lungs close to her heart which almost blocked her airway and caused her to cough and feel a shortness of breath. She had a biopsy at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute for the doctor to assess the treatment that fits her case properly. The biopsy result will be available 7 days after the specimen was extracted. While waiting for the biopsy, she went again to another fluid extraction and the doctor advised her to put a catheter in her lungs since the fluid will continuously produced while the tumor still exists. August 29, her biopsy results are available and it turns out that she has Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell lymphoma. During her first consultation with her Oncologist, her doctor mentioned that the Chemotherapy should start as soon as possible due to the tumor size and that she needs to complete the lab procedures (including a PET Scan) ASAP before her scheduled Chemotherapy session. She needs to undergo a total of 6 cycles (split-dose) of Chemotherapy sessions (a total of 12 sessions) initially and needs to be assessed again by her doctor on the progress after the 6th cycle.

Due to her sickness, her Doctor did not allow her to go back to work since she is working in a fast-food restaurant which is too risky for her as she will be exposed to a chemicals and crowded environment.

As of the moment, we have shelled out a total of roughly around ₱ 550,000.00 (for her hospital bill, biopsy, laboratories, fluid Extraction, lung catheter, doctor's fee, PET Scan, CT Scan, Chemo medicine for 1st cycle) but we are still in need of funds for us to be able to continue with her Chemotherapy session and her medicine.
