Help Amelia Balan from Long Itam get to graduation at Nottingham Malaysia

I was a pre-school teacher in Long Itam for five years from 2011 to 2015 and I received a scholarship to continue my studies at the University of Nottingham for seven years. This include pre- university English classes that was arranged by the late Prof Ganakumaran Subramaniam who was the Head of School for the School of Education at University of Nottingham. When his help , my English has improved tremendously, from someone who cannot converse, read and write in English to be someone who I am today. I continued with my foundation studies and Bachelor of Arts ( Honours ) in Education ( TESOL ). Now I have completed my studies at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.

I am the first Penan from my village to have graduated from university. My parents are farmers in the village and we don't have much. My family is very proud of my achievements and they wanted to join me in my convocation on 23 July 2022 at 2pm. I would like to explain why I want Father, brother, and sister to join my graduation because they are the ones who have always supported and encouraged me to continue my studies at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.

As a fresh graduate who is currently yet to start working, I faced financial burden to fulfill my family's dream. I would like to thank the lecturers at my school for contacting me and helping me to organise this graduation trip. I will be giving a speech at my graduation, telling about my journey from my village, Long Itam to University of Nottingham. I have some personal funds to cover transportation for myself and my family members from my village to Miri airport. I am very grateful that Prof Ting from School of Pharmacy has helped me raise some seed funding to cover air tickets for two persons for the graduation. I am also grateful that my accommodation during my graduation stay will also be sponsored. But I still need RM2650 to cover my other family members and other expenses.

Lastly, I would like to express my deepest appreciation and thanks to the individuals involved especially the contributors.
