Hello! I am Dubhe, a BS Human Ecology student in the University of the Philippines Los Baños. I was recently accepted to ISFiT19, world's largest International Student Festival that will be held in Trondheim, Norway on February 7-17, 2018. Over 500 students from 100 different countries will participate in workshops discussing this year's theme migration.
The event is fully funded except for the airfare ticket. I am having problems financially because the round trip from Manila to Trondheim costs around $1100-$1300. In addition to that, there will also be fees for the daily living expenses and the Visa. I am currently in an exchange program here in Oklahoma State University and my parents have already spent a lot of money just to support me and pay for the expenses not covered by my scholarship.
The most common hindrance for developing country advocates is the lack of money/funding so that they could attend international events to learn more about the problems of the world and to also share about the problems of their country first hand. I'm looking for donations so that I can travel and immerse myself in different cultures. Doing so would help me gain and share more knowledge about the current situation of migration in the Philippines and around the world. Help me, and my country!
