An Update as of December 31, 2018

Papa won the battle! He is now with our Almighty Father and is now reunited with our mom in heaven.

Papa did not leave alone, a part of us went with him... our hearts full of love...

YOU, our dear friends, are part of papa's journey on earth. He may not have thanked you all personally, but he showed everyone that life is worth fighting for because of the enormous amount of love and care he got from all of us!

He made sure he'll leave before the new year so he can be free of pain as we welcome 2019. He can now watch all of us, as we start a new year full of hope, love and strength!.

God bless everyone!

An update:

I remember just a few days ago when the doctor said they reduced some meds, because his BP was already stable. Today, they said they have 4 meds for him that are already in maximum strength. It used to be 3, but now they have 4. His blood pressure won't stabilize anymore, and he feels pain all over his body. I was told that we should get ready.

We need your help now more than ever. We'd need to have enough funds to be able to pay for the medical bills that's more than 1 Million pesos. Any amount is highly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance.

An update on my father's condition:

My world stopped spinning when my father's heart stopped beating. It was past 10 am yesterday when I got a phone call from the resident doctor asking me to go to the hospital ASAP. I was told that my father was hovering between life and death and I needed to be there as soon as I can.

He was already revived and conscious when I arrived, and I couldn't do anything else anymore. They said he was asleep when it happened.

I cried when my wife called, but no matter how comforting she sounded, I still felt pain.

I was helpless, and so I just sat beside my father and held his hand.

My wife and I slept at the hospital last night, because I was afraid that something horrible might happen again. Much to my dismay, it happened again this morning. The worst part is that we saw and heard everything. The door was half open when everything was happening. We saw what they were doing. We heard when they were asking my father to stay awake. We heard all the noises the machines were making; we heard all the conversations the nurses and doctors were having; we heard the shrieking sounds the nurses were making when they were asking for "patient Ramos' watchers".

One of the doctors came out and talked to us; and while she was talking, both our phones were ringing off the hook. The nurses and other doctors were still callling us.

It was nerve-wracking.

We waited for hours for my father to wake up, and when he did, we went in to talk to him. We asked if he can still make it. He nodded.

I don't know where he gets his strength from.

No matter how sickly and terrible he looks, his fighting spirit refuses to give in to illness. Because of his resilience, we refuse to give up as well.

We left the hospital at lunch time, but got a call in the afternoon again. They said he needed to have blood transfusion and undergo hemodialysis again.

We still have a long road ahead of us, but we know that all of you are praying for us and with us. We don't know what this week holds, but no matter what happens, we'll remain in faith.

Thank you for your continuous love and support, and for all the donations that keep pouring in. We greatly appreciate everything and we pray that all of these will return to you a thousandfold.

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, my father underwent Hemodialysis once again, because his lungs were filled with fluids. Today, however, we finally got good news. He had his first bowel movement in 15 days, and was able to relieve himself as well (9cc only).

As for the medical bills, it's already 1,171, 346.13 php, and it would keep accumulating so long as he's in the hospital. It's tough for us to cope with the said amount, and so we ask for your continued prayers for healing and we knock on your hearts as well.

We know that we'd be able to reach our goal with your help!

Thank you for all your prayers and donations. You keep us grounded in the midst of turmoil.
